0.8.2 - Items Update

Welcome, high rollers!

This update brings a LOT of changes (big and small) with bug fixes, a few more dice, and finally ITEMS! Read on in the patch notes below:

Visual:

  • Enlarged all menu buttons with a fancy new coat of paint (roll button, menu buttons, etc.)
  • Reworked shop backgrounds to be more shop-y
    • There is now a common, uncommon, and rare theme for each shop type. (More shop types to come in future updates!)
  • Reworked "Even" and "Odd" item arrow colors.
  • Popups now default to always staying visible until manually popped, or when dice are rerolled (Added setting to turn this off in options menu.)
  • Added a "star pop" animation when dice are rolled and number is displayed.
  • Added in themed buttons (player request)
  • Show completed score instead of math (player request). Math is still visible when right clicking a score to see its info.
  • Reworked information GUI system to better fit location of object on screen (WIP)
  • Renamed score "Upgrade" text to "Level Up" to better reference the experience levels gain.
  • Reworked die descriptions to be more information than flavorful.
  • Added score description when hovering over scores.

Balance Changes:

  • ALL scores have been changed so that they have more substantial upgrades on leveling up.
  • Reworked how "Target Points" are calculated, making the game harder (and then exponentially harder after Sector 7).
  • Gain +2 cash for each remaining roll (up from +1)
  • "Snake Eyes" Start: 0 points | 111 mult, Level Up: +1 points | +0 mult
    • Adding items affected odd values and made this way too overpowered. Made some slight changes to keep it powerful in certain circumstances.
  • Base reroll cost for shops reduced to $2 (from $3).

New Content:

  • Added a tutorial to better explain how to play the game, and walk through the gameplay, level select, and shop. (WIP)
  • Items: Items have been added to increase build options. Items also have rarities that affect how often they appear.
  • Shop has two items available (can be rerolled for more).
  • Common:
    • Ones Up (Twos Up, Threes Up, Fours Up, Fives Up, Sixes Up): Add +10 to points when scoring any 1s.

    • Fuzzy Dice: 'Pair' score is worth 2x more when scored.

  • Uncommon:
    • Odds Up (Evens Up): Add +10 points when odd/even numbers are scored.
    • Silver Coin: Reroll a selected die.
    • Numberchucks: Add the sum of all selected dice to the score an extra time (before mult is calculated).
    • Quantum Die: Roll a die twice and choose one result.
    • Dad's Toolbox: 'Full House' score is worth 2x more when scored.
    • Nexus of Numbers: Add the values of two dice to create a new temporary die.
  • Rare:
    • Primal Die: Gain +2 mult for each prime number in your selected dice, within 20 (2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19).
    • Twelve's Dagger: Add 12 to this scoring hand for each 12 rolled.
    • Steel Epee: 'Three of a Kind' score is worth 2x more when scored.
  • Level Select: Changed level select visuals and added a "shop" icon to each "Target".
    • Shops are randomly selected depending on the "Target" level (more to come in future updates).

Player Request:

  • Popups for "on roll" effects now last longer when game speed is increased to better help readability (only when "auto pop popups" setting is turned on)

Bug Fixes:

  • Changed/added text to show whether some dice have an ability (dice names with an *).
  • Fixed bug with Wooden Block copied faces not being removed from selected dice when the original A or B value was removed.
  • Added bigger point tally visuals for all you super high rollers (1,000 and 10,000).
